This communication assistance software features a speech system. It replaces former AIACA software, OpenClav.

Sound card for the voice synthesis, 800x600 screen 256+ colours

22 Mo on Hard Disk

Functions:

-        Typing mode : mouse, frontal mouse, click, self-click, scan

 

-    Scanning Mode: 2 kinds

    In “Scan Screen”, the whole screen is scanned which gives access to the functions of the computer. A horizontal line moves to the bottom (stop with a click) then a cursor moves along this line from the left to the right (stop with a second click). The colour and the size of the line as well as its speed are adjustable.

         In « Scanning », the scanning is limited to the virtual keyboard: a horizontal line moves to the bottom (selection with a click) then the cursor moves cell by cell from the left to the right (selection with a second click).

-        Creating new keyboards with pictures, function keys to use Phraseur with other applications

 

-        Creating Q&A games

 

-        Macros: it is possible to edit macros and keyboard shortcuts.

 

-        Applications: Phraseur works with its own text processing software. It can also run Outlook Express, receive e-mails and send mails written with the Phraseur text processing software.
 

-        The dictionary: The word prediction contains more than 20,000 words, and it is possible to add more. This dictionary is dynamic: the most common words come first.

 

Edition:

The keyboard edition is easy.

Each grid may contain up to 16x8 cells (128).

To each cell you have to give a title, a command (a function or a link toward another grid), a picture, a sound. The function can be a classic text processing command, a function of the computer control or a link to a typed text. To create a link toward another grid: this other grid has to be created first, to be given a name.

Advantages:

Easy edition.

Disadvantages:

When you select a cell, the picture isn’t displayed in the text area.

It cannot be used with Word or Internet.

In the mail menu, the data has to be input from the physical keyboard (impossible with the on-screen keyboard).

The quality of the speech system is rather low: the voice is inexpressive,

It is impossible to allocate two functions to a single cell (for example execute the function and return to the previous grid)
