Clavecran

Clavecran is a writing help but it doesn’t give access to text processing. It looks like Clavidef but has some additional functions.

System requirements  :

Windows 95, 98, Millenium, XP

64 MB of RAM

Soundcard (for the speech system)

Functions  :

Cells content : letters, words, sentences. It will soon contain icons.

Typing mode : click, self click, scan

Scanning : it moves row by row and cell by cell. To get out from the scanning mode, you just have to move the mouse or type any key of the keyboard.

Speech system : it uses the L&H speech system. A “speak” cell makes the typed text to be spoken.

Edition  :

3 grids are provided. To program a cell, just righ-click on it and type on the keyboard the letter you want to put on it .There can’t be more than 10 cells per row and 5 rows in a grid. Each cell can contain only one letter.

Advantages  :

Grid edition is very easy.

Audio feedback of the selected cells thanks to the speech system.

Disadvantages  :

It is not possible for a cell to contain a function nor macros.

The tool bar is not accessible when using the scanning mode.

No word prediction

It cannot be used with any other application
