Switch XS

Switch XS is a text processing help software for Mac. It is the scanning version of Keystrokes.

System requirement  :

Operating system : Mac OS X 10.2  and later (latest version recommended)

Requires a minimal screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels

Fonctions  :

Input device :   joystick, USB keyboard (HID compatible) and any switch which emulates those. You can also use several switches (It is possible to set the control as you wish : which switch makes what (moves, clicks), ...)

Typing mode : scanning only (fully adjustable : scanning method, speed (for instance you can choose a quick scanning except on the first line, ...))

Mouse emulator : it gives access to any function of the mouse (click, double click, ...) : you just need to select it on a « mouse » window, in the scanning mode.

Word prediction : if used with Keystrokes, Switch XS has its prediction.

Control of the computer : Switch XS provides access to any application using text. The user can be fully independent.

Smart transparency function : with this function, when you are not using the keyboard, it will become transparent, so that you can click through it.

Edition  :

Switch XS includes the software Layout Kitchen, which is a grid editor. The user can create its own keyboards with cells containing text, icons, pictures, ... You can also associate functions or macros to a cell.

On each grid you have a « change grid » cell, which makes navigating between grids easier.

Advantages  :

Works with any Mac application (Internet included).

The keyboard size automatically fits the environment. There is also the smart transparency function.

It gives to the user the total control of the computer, and makes him independant.

Disadvantages  :

Only works in the scanning mode.

You will need to buy Keystrokes to have the word prediction.

A few bugs : some Mac applications hide the scanning window.
