Objective : The derivation allows the connection of any standard mouse to a variety of contactors (mechanical, breath, sensitive…) with a view to activate the usual “click” function. Through this installation, the user will be able to use any scrolling system via a simple click. This installation also enables dissociation of the click and point functions.

Next steps :

1. Separate cover and mouse caseTwo screws attach the cover to the case of the mouse.

The first screw is located at the back of the bottom face of the mouse case.
The second screw is located at the back of the compartment that receives the batteries, which is also located on the bottom face of the mouse case. Simply unscrew the two screws.

2. Install a female Jack on the mouse

Locate the best spot to install the female Jack on the back of the inside cover of the mouse.
Remove the wheel and the printed circuit board (PCB) to ease installation of the Jack (2 screws on the top of the PCB and 1 screw on the bottom of the PCB).
Ensure the selected position is optimal and will not hamper the positioning of the PCB or the closing of the cover once derivation is complete.Warning : during the removal of the wheel and PCB, two small pieces easily get loose : a small spring located at the wheel level and a small plastic piece located under the upper level PCB, on its external side.
Drill a hole (8 mm diameter)
Install the female Jack with a screw and delicately replace the PCB, making sure you do not forget the free elements (plastic tongue)

3. Welding

Cut a segment of both red and black wires (approx. 7 cm).
Denude the extremities of the wires.

a. Welding printed wires to circuit board (PCB)
- Tin the extremities of the 2 wires as well as both contacts of the PCB.
- Weld the wires to the contacts (see picture).

b. Welding wires to the female Jack
- Tin the extremities of the 2 wires as well as the 2 branches A and B of the Jack.
- Weld the 2 wires to the 2 branches of the Jack.

4. Putting the mouse together again

-    Replace the wheel – do not forget the spring !
-    Close the lid.
-    Put the batteries back in place.

Your derived mouse is now ready to be tested. If your PC does not recognize your mouse, press the « Connect » button of the case connected to the computer central unit, and the « Conncet » button located on the external rim of the lower case of the mouse.
